And so it begins...

X has been made a "consultant" so his salary will be about halved.  Starting his next pay check.  It's going to be fun.  He's telling me how he has to pay more for his insurance & business expenses... so that means he'll be contributing less.  I want to be fair... but you know, the expenses for the kids don't go down.  I have to get them their summer wardrobe...

PLUS - am I responsible for taking care of HIS needs?  Why does he think I am?!?!

Why am I stuck with all the income pressure.... Why can't your income help float the boat a bit. Why can't you have a job that helps your family before the public. You are selfish and the boys will understand it when they are older.

when you get a chance please let me know what your income is & how we are going to figure out these checks.  I'm figuring the proportion will be 60-40.

I don't know what my income will be. I will be receiving checks equivalnet to $Xxxxxt will be subject to business expenses that will probably take that income to about $(8000 less). Then my income would factor out social security and new york city taxes to arrive at a figure.

what do you mean business expenses?  the proportion is based on how much your take home pay is....

I'm not a salaried employee and have to cover an array of costs.

It's monthly.
FYI: if the parisittes suck too much blood out of the host--the host dies and the parissities too.

yes.  You are fair.  I just want to be able to understand & budget -- so I'll need to know how much you will be contributing.

I thought you were being very reasonable throughout the email exchange. Way to go Amy! Keep it professional, short and equitable, but don't let him get away with anything.

Classic X: "you are selfish and the boys will understand it when they are older."

From Gwen to X: You are a grade A Jackass and the boys will understand it in about 3 years.

Geez louise.

I so admire how cool you kept it (at least in writing---please tell me you had to hop 22 times before each message to calm down LOL).

Listen...I don't know what to say to that, those things he said (and I do generously use the word said). I want to be understanding, but in short, he wants to provide less for his children. That's tough for me to read.

I grew up with a dad who begrudged every penny he paid for us and now he doesn't get why he's not my go-to guy and I have daddy issues.

It's hard for me to see another mom and kids going through it. At least your kids have a mom like you---this helps. :)

Hang in there.

You did a really great job staying calm, but I still think Gwen should be in charge of e-mails to X from now on. lol. - julie

I know how hard it is to make ends meet when you are paying for your children. But there is a thing call "sacrifice" that you make in order to do it. The courts don't care how you do it, but around here they do "make" you pay. You don't have any say once the Judge tells you what your share is. You pay up or you get into major trouble. He is a %&#@!!^!!!

Gwen & Waldo's words are good, but X said it pretty well himself. He is a parisitte.
